DETECTING OUT-OF-HOSPITAL CARDIAC ARREST USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
  • Language: English
  • Tags: Medical Treatment In Hospital EMS
Description

EENA and Corti partnered in

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Public Safety
  • Language: English
  • Tags: Technology
Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI), and specifically
Machine Learning (ML), are being tested in
an increasing number of fields, including
data-centric environments. Image or text
analysis, speech recognition, chatbot
interactions, custom machine learning
models… all these are elements that could
enable the AI journey of a public safety and
security organisation.
This document dives into different aspects of
integrating AI & ML in Public Safety
activities, at different levels and in different
domains of activity.

Integrating Rescue Drones into Airspace
  • Language: English
  • Tags: Technology
Description

SAR operations as well as other
operations by emergency
services are high on the priority
list, no matter the means of
conducting them (aircraft or
UAS). That is why it is crucial to
make a fast and safe access to
airspace possible for them
where and whenever

Integrating Rescue Drones into Airspace

Description

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) play a lifesaving role in emergency response. When
someone suffers a cardiac arrest, artificial circulation must be restored as soon as possible.
Survival dramatically decreases by approximately 10% every minute without intervention.1 As
detailed in EENA’s document AED Mapping and Emergency Response, survival rates rose up to
65% when lay people began CPR with an early defibrilation by an AED.2 AEDs for public use are
therefore crucial in ensuring that people suffering from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest are given
the maximum chance of survival

GDPR and PUBLIC SAFETY
  • Language: English
  • Tags: EMS Legislation
Description

The General Data Protection Regulation
("GDPR") came into force on 25 May
2018 and required public and private
companies to comply with its provisions
regarding their processing of personal
data.
One year after its entry into force, it
appears that 100% GDPR compliance is
difficult to achieve for companies and
organisations. However, it is important
to work towards compliance and at
least implement compliance measures
such as appointing a compliance pilot,
mapping data processing, identifying
actions that need to be prioritised,
managing risks, organise internal
procedures, document compliance.

AED Mapping & Emergency response
  • Language: English
  • Tags: EMS
Description

AED mapping is being used by some emergency services organisations to locate the closest AED to the scene
of an incident, so that people onsite can start rescuing someone suffering from a cardiac arrest until
emergency services arrive.
This document highlights why and how AED Mapping can make an impact to the emergency services and to
people in distress. Also, it explains the challenges behind the implementation and the maintenance of such a
tool.
