European Paediatric Immediate Life Support - EPILS (English)
Description
EPILS aims to provide resuscitation training for all those healthcare providers who care for children, but are not usually members of a resuscitation team. Candidates are trained to recognise and manage critically ill children and children in cardiorespiratory arrest whilst awaiting the arrival of a resuscitation team (1 to 5 minutes) and to provide further support once the team arrives. The course lasts 7 to 8 hours and includes:Recognition of a critically ill child, Knowledge and skills in assessing and treating problems with the airway, breathing and circulation (including bag-mask ventilation), Scenario-based training in management of critically ill children during the first few minutes, Basic life support, AED use, Treatment of choking
